Now it is done. The update for Battlefield 3 is released.
Commo rose now show a call for medic, ammo or repair. The minimap shows an icon for such calls and borders of the minimap are visible in an easier manner.
The update is 1.6 GB huge. For some details take a look in the battlefield blog. There you can see pictures of the new commo rose, minimap and some more informations.
In several cases the spawn procedure for the deathmatch gamemodes was fixed.
Additional there are some more new things which were not mentioned before:
- More then 8 Squads possible.
- TV-rocket (helicopter) destroy tanks with one hit.
- Stationary flak has air radar.
- Bi-Pod can now be used with a separate key.
- Squad-Leader can give orders only via commo rose.
- No more reload during zooming.
- Longer time to revive mates.
- Sniper rifles with less Bullet Drop.
- You can press q (spotting) and zoom at the same time now.
A new server version is released too.

Some news about the upcoming patch and the first DLC for Battlefield 3.
Patch
The work on the patch is finished right now. At the moment the patch will be tested at Microsoft and Sony to check if it will work fine on their consoles. After this is done it will be released.
Normally this take 1-3 weeks. So, in the next 3 weeks the patch should be released.
DLC Closed Quarters
Although the DLC was shown always as a TDM DLC it is not restricted to that gameplay mode. We will be able to play all original modes as well. Additional there will be a brand new gameplay mode. What kind of mode this will be is a secret.
What is known is, that this DLC does not contain maps with vehicles. It will be an infantry only DLC. For that the maximum players are limited below 64 players. The correct limitation is not mentioned.

Origin is still in beta phase so it will be updated from time to time.
As a problem occurred during the last update on my PC, I will make a news for the solution as it was a little bit tricky to found the reason. And the reason is unbelievable to me.
The error message from origin update or reinstall file (without de-installation) was (not word by word):
Can´t find plug-ins folder.
At least one (perhaps there are more) of the reasons is, that the temp folder was changed.
When I installed origin temp folders was defined in system settings as:
tmp = D:tmp
temp = D:temp
Later I changed both to D:. Although no files are saved there (I am using a RAM-disk for temporary files which will be newly created after each reboot) this switch was the reason.
Remind this whenever origin makes problems during update.
News Update:
After a new system installation and first change of the temp folder before trying to install origin the same problem occurs.
Solution is:
Find the standard temp folder. Remove that temp folder and make a symbolic link named temp to the new temp folder. This seems to work fine.
